What he saw was not the poverty that he read about in books and heard people describe- it was human suffering in his face. The people had a boat, but no real friends to sail it with. According to John McGrath they have a lemon; the problem is how to turn it into a lemonade.
The next couple of days were terrible for him, as he thought of what he could do to salvage the situation. he decided to dedicate himself to serving others. Therefore, he abandoned the ship (job) and took the long swim (SAVE-GHANA) to bring even a smile to at least one face.
The organization originally evolved as a Youth Action Club (YAC) led by group of enthusiastic young school leaders who shared a vision of fostering community development by organizing the youth to initiate actions that would contribute to the overall development process of their communities, particularly in the Sissala West and East Districts. SAVE-Ghana was registered as a charity organization with registration number G-24,859 under the Ghana Companies Code of 1963 (Act 179) limited by guarantee on 8th July, 2008.
